Distribution

Habitat

Occurs around trees, including acacia, baobab, figs and other fruiting trees in gardens, thickets, open woods, and secondary growth.

Diet

Mostly fruits, and probably some insecst

Breeding

Excavates a nest cavity in dead wood of Acacia or palm. Reported to lay 2 eggs, but no other information known for wild-living birds; in captivity incubation takes about 16 days; nestlings fledge in 5-6 weeks.
