Trick or Treat! Bring your kids to visit the National Aviary for Halloween fun!

  • Goody! Kids can get Halloween treats at various activities throughout their visit
  • Make-your-own fun – enjoy an Owl-O-Ween craft
  • Wear your costume and be a part of our Halloween parade
  • Sp-OO-ky Meet and Greet! Get a chance to meet a variety of owls in a comfortable theater seating plus learn what makes them unique from a National Aviary expert

11 am – 3 pm: Owl Craft | Atrium
11 am – 3 pm: Owl Discovery Table | Explore biofacts like owl feathers, beaks and owl pellets | Atrium
11 am – 3 pm: Owl Scavenger Hunt | Full Facility 
11 am – 4 pm:

11:30 am: Costume Parade with Owl Leading | East Entrance 
1 pm: Barred Owl Talk | Condor Court 
2 pm: Bat Talk | Canary’s Call Presented by Dollar Bank
3:30 pm: Owl Meet & Greet | Helen M. Schmidt FliteZone Theater

Start the Owl-O-Ween fun on October 18 with Brushes and Birds Happy Hour featuring Maria DeSimone Prascak of Maria’s Ideas (mariasideas.com). Paint a beautiful Burrowing Owl portrait while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine, beer, or non-alcoholic beverage. Book tickets
