Member Exclusive: Expert Talk with Dr. Steve Latta: Ivory-billed Woodpeckers

Join Dr. Steven Latta at the National Aviary to help kick off our exciting new Expert Talks series!

During this first talk, learn more about the elusive Ivory-billed Woodpecker from Dr. Latta, the Director of Conservation and Field Research here at the National Aviary. Dr. Latta’s work on Project Principalis made headlines in 2023, suggesting the continuing survival of these iconic birds in Louisiana.

Members can learn all about this work and more from Dr. Latta during his approximately 45-minute presentation and then enjoy their complimentary admission to stroll our habitats, learning even more from our kind and knowledgeable staff. This event is a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon, whether with friends and family or flying solo. Meet fellow Members to make connections with bird lovers like you, or simply listen and learn!
