Birding Expedition

July 9 |

Birding Expedition | Sunday, July 9 | 8:30 am – 11:30 am | Members: $50; Non-Members: $55

Meet up with National Aviary Ornithologist Bob Mulvihill for a morning of birdwatching. Hone your bird identification skills or learn birding basics as you explore some of western Pennsylvania’s most beautiful locations.

Travel to Cook Forest, a southern outpost for many northern bird species, like Swainson’s Thrush, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, Dark-eyed Junco, Winter Wren, and Blackburnian Warbler. In addition to seeing and hearing these birds, experience one of the rarest and most impressive habitats in all of Pennsylvania—old-growth hemlock forest.
