As winter wanes and spring approaches, trees and flowers aren’t all that bloom! Thanks to the steamy temperatures of our lush habitats, January through early May is PEAK nesting season for an array of adorable birds at the National Aviary. Immerse yourself in the beauty of budding relationships, nesting, and hopefully adorable chicks during our new seasonal theme, Nesting in Nature.

TAKING OFF SAT., MAY 23: Known for their FIERCE hunting skills and graceful FLIGHT, birds of prey are some of the most captivating animals in the world. And now YOU can see their innate instincts and unmatched natural abilities UP CLOSE during the National Aviary’s NEW indoor show: Fierce in Flight!

Fierce in Flight isn’t the only must-do activity that launches Memorial Day Weekend…so does our NEW summer season, Remarkable Raptors Presented by S&T Bank.

From Peregrine and Lanner Falcons to Bald and Steller’s Sea Eagles, NEW Seasonal Daily Activities and limited-time add-on experiences AND Interactive Play Spaces (for kiddos!) will take YOU on an unparalleled journey into the world of these formidable predators.

Southern Three-banded Armadillo and longtime National Aviary Animal Ambassador, Willy, has officially taken up residence in the Grasslands Presented by Vitro Architectural Glass! His presence in our Grasslands habitat also exemplifies a healthy, biodiverse ecosystem that supports birds and mammals alike, and all species (including humans) need to flourish. Come see Willy in his new, specially designed area inside the immersive habitat, as he explores his “digs” (alongside feathered habitat-mates) during your next National Aviary visit.
