New Volunteer Opportunities

How to join the National Aviary Volunteer Program
  1. Complete an online volunteer application.
  2. Interview with the Volunteer Programs Staff
  3. Adults must apply for criminal record, child abuse and FBI fingerprint investigations. We must have satisfactory clearances on all of these investigations in order for you to volunteer at the National Aviary.
  4. Attend the National Aviary’s Volunteer Orientation.

Acceptance into the National Aviary Volunteer Program is dependent upon satisfactory completion of all four steps as determined by the National Aviary. Initial and ongoing volunteer status is always at the sole discretion of the National Aviary of Pittsburgh, Inc.

For Teens ages 14-17 

The summer teen docent and camp assistant program is open to students who will be 14-17 by the start of the summer session, June 1, 2020. BEAK is for teens who will be at least 15. The application process for 2020 is open January 2 -  March 15, 2020. Choose a position below and complete an application during this time period.
