Thursdays at 1:00 pm EST on social media and at the Education Corner, tune in for story time fun with Red, the Scarlet Macaw, and other National Aviary Animal Ambassadors! One of the National Aviary’s experts will read a special story, and you can experience the sights and sounds of the National Aviary’s habitats as you listen and watch.

Don't Forget Your Book Log!

If you can’t get enough of Red, keep track of the books you read at home on the National Aviary’s Reading with Red Book Log. You can read along with what Red is reading (we'll let you know the Sunday before), or you can pick your own books! This summer, bring in your completed Book Log form to the National Aviary to receive a prize!  In the meantime, follow along with Red as you journey to different immersive habitats and meet birds from around the world, from the comfort of your own home! 

Information:

  • 10 books: One free child admission
  • 20 books: One free child admission + a photo button of Red
  • 50 books: Admission to a Red & Friends Meet and Greet

Rules:

  • Limit one Book Log per child
  • Meet & Greet with Red does not include admission, though free child admission listed above may apply!
  • There will be a series of group Meet & Greets with Red scheduled for this summer; the dates of which are to be determined
