Teen Job Shadow

Attention parents and caregivers of teens passionate about animals! Give your child a unique and enriching experience to “learn the ropes” of during our FOUR-PART Teen Shadow Shadow series. 

They’ll witness firsthand what it takes to care for more than 500 birds and other animals, from African Penguins to Linnaeus’s Two-toed Sloths, that reside at the National Aviary! Teens will go behind the scenes and learn about diet preparation, habitat maintenance, and more from our Animal Care, Animal Programs, and Veterinary staff.
