International Vulture Awareness Day

September 6 |

Sat., September 6 | Included with General Admission

Celebrate International Vulture Awareness Day with us! Vultures play a vital role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems by munching on the leftovers that could otherwise spread disease. Despite their importance, more than half of the world’s vulture species are more endangered than ever. Fly through the Aviary like a vulture on a themed scavenger hunt* AND attend a special, one-day-only expert talk!

International Vulture Awareness Day Activities:

  • 12 pm: Meet a Vulture! | Helen M. Schmidt FliteZone™ Theater (seating is limited)
  • 1:30 pm: Condor Chat! | Condor Court

Don’t forget to roll your General Admission cost into a National Aviary Membership to receive FREE admission to the Aviary for an entire year and other exclusive benefits, all of which help to further our work to save birds and protect their habitats.

*Visitors can take part in the scavenger hunt ALL DAY LONG!
