For Dad

For the dad who’s leaning into birding, set him up with everything he needs for his new hobby. Give him a Live Feed Bird Feeder and a trusty field guide for easy identification! Once he builds his confidence and starts venturing beyond his backyard, he’ll certainly need a water bottle for hydration. Add a National Aviary-branded sticker or keychain in the mix, and dad will quietly become the neighborhood’s go-to birder.

Bonus Idea for Dad

Incoming #DadJoke: Why do owls always get invited to parties? Because they are a hoot! Invite dad to Father’s Day Brunch in The Garden Room for an owl-fully great time! Savor a variety of entrées*, including Lager Waffles and Grilled Shrimp Kebabs, all prepared by Executive Chef Nathan Collins of Atria’s Specialty Catering. Membership

Let’s face it: Parenting and school are A LOT of work. Give your loved one a well-deserved break with FREE admission to our peaceful, serene habitats. It’s the perfect way to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature. BONUS FOR CAREGIVERS: The National Aviary and the Children’s Museum offer a Joint Membership!

Adopt-A-Bird

Symbolically adopt your loved one’s favorite National Aviary species through our Adopt-A-Bird program. Available species include an American Flamingo, Bald Eagle, Eurasian Eagle-Owl, Linnaeus’s Two-toed Sloth, and more.

Name-A-Bird

For a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable gesture, name a National Aviary resident after your favorite person through our Name-A-Bird program. Donors receive a specialized tour of the Aviary that includes a visit with the birds’ care staff. A record of your naming will be honored and recognized onsite, as well as in the National Aviary’s official registry!

A Gift of Lasting Impact

Many of our feathered residents have built families of their own, including two dedicated mothers who both hatched in the 1980s. Victoria Crowned Pigeon Mary raised six chicks, three of whom eventually hatched eggs themselves.   The National Aviary’s first-ever Andean Condor, Lianni, has produced five offspring, including Marijo and another chick that was released into the dense highlands of South America in 2009 to bolster declining wild populations.   You can support our ever-growing feathered families and honor your favorite family member with a gift to our Spring Annual Campaign. Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous individual donor, each gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $30,000.
