Our Habitats

Explore the National Aviary’s diverse habitats, full of lush greenery, natural light, and birdsong. In our large, walk-through habitats, you will be immersed in a world where birds fly, walk, waddle, and swim freely around you, offering the chance to get incredibly close to species from around the world, many of them threatened or endangered in the wild.

  • Canary’s Call Presented by Dollar Bank

    This museum-style habitat tells the story of birds as indicators of the health of our environment. As you stroll past a flock of lively Rainbow Lorikeets in their newly renovated habitat and gaze in at the striking orange Andean Cock-of-the-rock, you will learn that birds are trying to tell us something.   • Condor Court

    This expansive, mountainous outdoor habitat is home to impressive Andean Condors. Peer in through large glass viewing panels to see these enormous birds up close. Watch as they spread their wings to a span of 10 feet!
