World Migratory Bird Day

Visit the National Aviary on World Migratory Bird Day to learn about the migration patterns of many species that reside here, including the Demoiselle Crane! “Migrate” through the Aviary on a themed scavenger hunt* AND attend a special, one-day-only expert talk at 1 pm. 

#DidYouKnow there are a few simple tips and tricks that you can do to help bird species fly through Pittsburgh on their long journey?!

  • Turn off exterior lighting from midnight to 6 am
  • Install a bird feeder and bath in your yard
  • Make your windows bird-safe by adding decals
  • Add native plants to your garden and avoid chemical pesticides 

Don’t forget to roll your General Admission cost into a National Aviary Membership to receive FREE admission to the Aviary for an entire year and other exclusive benefits, all of which help to further our work to save birds and protect their habitats. 

*Visitors can take part in the scavenger hunt ALL DAY LONG!
