Sloth Lovers Experience

Love sloths? We get it. Sloths remind us to slow down and take time to just hang out (pun intended). If these adorable creatures have captured your heart, book a “Sloth Lovers Experience” today!

Sloth Lovers can get up close to the National Aviary’s three sloths in three immersive ways:

  • Participate in a Sloth Encounter – meet our female juvenile sloth, Vivien up-close. Learn all about her, touch her fur, take photos, and feed her some of her favorite snacks, as you learn about sloths and what you can do to help protect their habitats in the wild.

  • Prepare a sloth breakfast – Go behind-the-scenes to help one of the National Aviary’s animal care experts prepare breakfast for Wookiee the sloth. Then meet with our Tropical Rainforest trainer and see them deliver the meal to Wookiee’s favorite tree. Learn all about him and see him hanging out in the canopy. You may even get to go into the forest to get a closer look!

  • Stay tuned for the third sloth lover experience with Valentino- coming soon!

As a “sloth lover” you will receive a sloth button. You’ll learn about the unique personality traits of each of the National Aviary’s sloths and about sloths in wild rainforest habitats. Plus, your purchase will support the National Aviary’s work to save rainforest species and protect their habitats!

Participants will be guided through uneven terrain within the National Aviary’s Tropical Rainforest to deliver a meal. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing.

This experience is available for guests ages 8 or older. Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a paying, legal adult.

Book now by calling 412-258-9445!

The National Aviary uses positive reinforcement training, so our sloths have the choice to participate in interactive programs. If one of our sloths decides not to participate on the day of your experience, another sloth may sub-in, or you may be asked to reschedule. Thank you in advance for your understanding and support in providing the best possible care to our animals.
