Young Children & Caregivers

NEW! Happy Hatchlings

Designed for children 18 months – 5 years and their caregivers, these themed programs feature story time, a developmentally appropriate activity, and a visit from one of our Animal Ambassadors!

Pre-Teens & Teens

Young Birders

This spring, your child can learn birding techniques and have fun with other kids who share a similar passion for birds. Young birders ages 10-16 will have the chance to learn from two expert birders, including National Aviary Ornithologist Bob Mulvihill, on three Saturday morning bird walks in local parks!

Job Shadow Program

Aspiring veterinarians and zookeepers ages 14 to 18 can spend four days exploring careers working with animals under the guidance of the National Aviary's aviculturists and veterinarians. Take a guided tour, work alongside our expert staff, and find out how we care for more than 500 birds and their habitats.
