Birding Expedition

October 22 |

Birding Expedition | Sunday, October 22 | 8:30 am – 11:30 am | Members: $50; Non-Members: $55

Meet up with a National Aviary expert for a morning of birdwatching. Hone your bird identification skills or learn birding basics as you explore some of western Pennsylvania’s most beautiful locations.

Take the scenic route to one of Pennsylvania’s most beautiful landscapes: the Allegheny Front in the Laurel Highlands. Raptors like Sharp-shinned Hawks and even Golden Eagles migrate through this area in the fall, riding the winds that sweep along the sharp ridges of the valley. Birdwatchers will have a fantastic view from the ridgeline looking down on potentially hundreds of raptors migrating through the valley below.
