Pigeons and Doves are among the very few birds who drink by sucking, rather than by scooping and tilting their beaks skyward to swallow.

Distribution

Northern Mariana Islands. Extinct on the Island of Guam since 1986.

Habitat

Moist tropical and sub-tropical forests.

Diet

Fruit, occasionally seeds, leaves, and insects.
