Intern Testimonials

National Aviary Interns are often excited to share their experience with others. Below, find out what some of our Summer 2022 Interns had to say about their time at the National Aviary:

My summer internship at the National Aviary was very rewarding. Not only did I learn a lot about finance while working with the Accounting and Finance departments; I also got to learn a lot about National Aviary bird species and conservation efforts. Being a part of an organization that I feel passionate about and a team that was welcoming and willing to expose me to a lot of the daily operations made the whole experience even better.

Summer 2022 Accounting Intern

While serving as the Philanthropy Intern at the National Aviary, I observed first-hand how conservation and education-driven nonprofit organizations communicate with stakeholders to achieve their missions and fund their operations.

I supported the philanthropy department in preparing for the National Aviary’s largest annual fundraiser, “Night in the Tropics.” In supporting this event, I observed how nonprofit organizations maintain relationships with donors in a mission-driven way.

I am honored to have had the opportunity to work and learn from an organization that has such a successful record of conservation, education, and community engagement. My internship… has also given me first-hand experience in conservation messaging and writing code to meet the needs of a nonprofit organization.
