Coordinator for Summer Teen Program

Currently accepting applications for the SUMMER season

Deadline to apply is March 31, 2018

Students studying education, human resources, biology, environmental education or related field will work under the supervision of the Manager of Volunteer & Intern Programs to organize, train, mentor and supervise the 30 volunteers in the teen volunteer summer program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with new teen orientation
  • Oversee training of new teen volunteers, including interpretation of exhibits
  • Manage teen schedules and projects
  • Supervise and mentor teens on site

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Must be at least 20 years old and currently enrolled in or graduated from a college or university, majoring in education, environmental science or related field.
  • Experience and ability to work with teens ages 14-17 years old
  • Working knowledge of learning styles and interpretation
  • Strong interpersonal, communications and organizational skills

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to work occasional weekends and holidays
  • Work at least four (4) days per week
  • Commit to at least 450 hours for the internship
