Eurasian Eagle Owl chicks hatched at the National Aviary, but they will not stay little for long!
For a limited time, you can get nose-to-beak with a fluffy adorable owl chick!
This unique opportunity will be available April 3 - 24 at 11:30 am and April 6 - 21 at 2:00 pm.
Eventually our young owls will become avian ambassadors for their species and will begin training through positive, interactive encounters with visitors like you.
You'll have the opportunity to meet one of the newest members of the flock, as well as:
- Touch and hold an owl chick
- Use enrichment toys to play and interact with the owl chick
- Take photos with the owl chick
- Learn the owl chick’s personal history
- Learn about owls in general and owl conservation
These encounters provide short, intimate experiences between birds and humans that are mutually beneficial. The birds that are in our care gain experience with a variety of situations that assist in their development, and are enriched with fascinating activities that support their daily health and well-being. Our guests gain deeper understanding of each species, their importance in nature, and their status in the wild, as well as their own personal connections with living things.
