Events Crewmember, Part-time


The Events Crewmember position reports to the Facilities Director.  This part-time position entails setup and teardown of events and also performs janitorial and maintenance duties as needed during the shift.  Mainly evenings and weekends are required, however on some weekdays the shift may start as early as 2 p.m.  The candidate must be available for a flexible schedule.

The Event Crewmember is responsible for following the event setup request and will also perform janitorial and maintenance duties during an event.  When the event is over, the Event Crewmember is responsible for tear-down and return to original setup.


Positive interaction with visitors requires good oral communication skills and excellent customer service.  Duties are performed in a fast-paced environment.  Must be a good problem-solver and able to follow directions from the Event Manager or Event Coordinator.  Must be able to work individually or on a team and be proactive in seeking work and completing work with efficiency.  Knowledge of janitorial procedures and techniques as well as safe work principles and practices is expected.  Ability to learn the use of a variety of custodial equipment, supplies and materials is required.  

Lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, crawling, reaching, grabbing, bending, stooping, and kneeling can be expected in this position.  Sometimes the crewmember may work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

One year or more of experience is expected.  High school diploma or GED required.  The successful candidate must be able to pass all three of our background investigations including FBI fingerprinting for Criminal Background, PA Child Abuse Clearance, and PA State Police Criminal Background Check.  Essential job duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
