  Safety DaySaturday, July 11th 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Meet the people who help keep your neighborhoods safe. Enjoy chatting with firefighters, policemen, and ambulance drivers and get a peek inside their vehicles. Included with admission FLIGHT CAMP Summer Camp Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 31st 9 am - 3 pm Mon-Thurs; 9 am - 4 pm Friday Ever wonder what it takes to fly high in the sky? What better place than the National Aviary to answer that question and more during our 2009 Flight Camp! Fee: $175 members/ $195 non-members Lories Birthday Party Saturday, July 18th 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Come celebrate the 2nd birthday of the Lories & Friends exhibit. More information coming. Included with admission.  Night In The TropicsSaturday, July 25th 7 p.m. on Night in the Tropics, the National Aviary’s annual summer fiesta, is an event not to be missed! Enjoy food from Pittsburgh’s most popular restaurants, great music and entertainment, and visit from the Aviary’s flock. Must be 21+ Fights and Feathers Friday, August 21st 6:00 p.m. A Knock-out Event Benefiting the National Aviary Tickets are $500. EcoTour — Visit African Penguins in their natural habitat! Early Bird Special Saturday, November 7th 8:30 a.m. Spend an early morning with over 600 exotic and endangered birds. Join National Aviary trainers for a continental breakfast, during which you’ll enjoy live bird presentations. Talk with the staff, learn fascinating facts and take photos. Following breakfast, go behind the scenes to the National Aviary’s kitchen where you’ll find out what the birds are eating that morning. Then it’s on to hand-feed the birds in our free-flight exhibit rooms. The morning concludes with a colorful encounter in the Lories & Friends exhibit. All guests will be given nectar cups to share with the National Aviary’s colorful flock of rainbow lorikeets. $18 adults, $15 children; Member discounts available ($15 adults, $12 children). Reservations are required. 412-323-7235 ext 209.  Workshop — Training 101Saturday, November 14th 10 a.m. - 12 noon “How do they do that?” Find out in this introductory Aviary Workshop.  LITTLE PEEPERS: Kid-focused programs for ages 2-5 ONGOING EVENT 10:30 a.m. Every Monday at 10:30 a.m., kids enjoy stories, bird encounters and activities. Included with admission. Admission is FREE for children under six every Monday until the end of August. |
