Photo Safari Saturday - WetlandsSaturday, February 4th9 am - 10 am
Capture dazzling images of exotic birds from around the world without ever leaving Pittsburgh! In February, delve into the Wetlands exhibit! Get closer to the birds during this private photography session, climbing down onto the beach to capture images of our birds at their level.
$20 for members and $25 for non-members and includes general admission to the Aviary on the day of the program.

FlamingoFest!Saturday, February 11th through Sunday, February 12thJust in time for Valentine’s Day! Bring your sweetheart and frolic with our flock of friendly flamingos! Check out the debut of our new flamingo, learn from animal handlers why flamingos are pink and how they can stand on one leg all day, take part in a special flamingo story time and enter-to-win a Flamingo Connection! Activities run from 11 am – 3 pm and are include with General Admission.

Capture dazzling images of exotic birds from around the world without ever leaving Pittsburgh! In March, photograph in the depths of the jungle within the Tropical Rainforest. The back-stage pathways will be accessible to allow for different perspectives and up-close encounters.
$20 for members and $25 for non-members and includes general admission to the Aviary on the day of the program.

Get All Your Ducks in a Row!

Join us for a timely discussion of waterfowl migration and identification. Learn how to spot your favorite waterfowl as they travel through the region, and following the talk, take a short walk to Lake Elizabeth in West Park to view the variety of ducks on the water.

Masters of the Sky: Raptors!Saturday, March 17th
Experience the thrill of the hunt as some of the National Aviary’s most stunning birds-of-prey make a special appearance. Discover the amazing adaptations that allow these birds to use their keen sense of vision to hunt. Explore the wide array of environments, including Southwestern Pennsylvania, that are home to these stunning birds and discover where in the area you can see them in the wild. Learn about the famous Peregrine falcons living atop Pittsburgh Gulf Building and the University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning. Includes a special talk with an expert on Peregrine falcons in Pennsylvania. Activities run from 11 am – 3 pm and are included with General Admission.
