The Legacy Society of the National Aviary

The purpose of the Society is to advance the mission of the National Aviary, broaden long-term support for the institution’s programs, and provide a legacy of support to facilitate the maintenance and expansion of the National Aviary's standard of excellence. Phoenix Society members provide important support that endures long into the future.

The Phoenix Society is open to all who have provided for the National Aviary through a bequest in their will or through the creation of a charitable plan as part of their estate and/or financial plans.

An annual Behind-the-Scenes guided tour and lunch with the CEO at which she will share the current developments at the National Aviary

A facilities-use discount for a private event at the National Aviary (up to 2 events annually)

The Raptors! Experience – an annual up-close and personal visit with the National Aviary’s birds of prey – includes a feeding session and a flying session at which you will watch Aviary trainers prepare the birds for a flighted bird show

Many friends and supporters have expressed an interest in remembering the National Aviary in their wills, estate and financial plans. For such individuals, there are many tax-efficient charitable planning techniques (often referred to as planned gifts) that are available. Some of the more common methods of leaving a legacy by creating a planned gift are briefly explained here.

You may join the Society either by notifying the National Aviary that you have already included the institution in your will, estate, or financial plan or by moving through the process of creating a planned gift and then notifying us that you have put such a plan in place.
