UP-CLOSE ENCOUNTERS IN A SMALL GROUP SETTING
This new program, where guests sit in a circle as a penguin walks freely among the group, provides a unique face-to-beak encounter. The penguin trainer will describe what it takes to care for these birds, from natural history to medical care. The hour-long program also consists of 20 minutes of penguin contact time where guests will have the opportunity to touch a penguin and even offer the penguin enrichment items (think "educational toys" for birds!). At the end of the program, participants can opt to have their picture taken with the penguin.
“The small group format of Penguin Connection enables people to meet and interact with the birds in a quiet and personal setting,” says Nicole Begley, Supervisor of Animal Programs. “Our penguins are among the most beloved birds here at the Aviary, and people are excited by the opportunity to get close to and learn about these remarkable birds.”
