International Migratory Bird Day
Welcome Migratory Birds Back to our Area!

Help us welcome back our migratory feathery friends from their winters in the tropics with special migration-themed activities! Visitors will get a chance to learn what birds experience during their migration to and from the tropics and enjoy crafts, daily feedings, and special take-aways.

Anthony Braxton and the Syrinx Ensemble
Attention jazz fans! Enjoy the music of our birds with jazz musician Anthony Braxton and the Syrinx Ensemble in two special public concerts. The birds will take center stage as musicians play music inspired by the sounds of nature. The concerts are free with Aviary admission and will take place in the National Aviary’s free-flight exhibits, the Wetlands and the Tropical Forest.
