CUB SCOUT PROGRAMS
Bears
$8 per student
Each program lasts one hour
Participants learn about endangered and extinct animals while fulfilling achievement #5. Bears will explore conservation concerns and the many ways that people can make a positive difference on the environment.
Tigers
$8 per student
Each program lasts one hour
This class completes Tiger electives 31-34, 42 and 47. Participants learn how to make bird feeders from recycled materials and how to initiate other conservation-minded activities that help protect birds in the wild.
Webelos Naturalist
$8 per student
Each program lasts one hour
Webelos learn how to identify local birds through the examination of feathers, beaks and feet. Participants will create a bird feeder from recycled materials and learn ways to take care of the birds in their own backyards.
BOY SCOUT PROGRAMS
Bird Study Badge
$9 per child
Program lasts 2 hours
As part of this badge, Boy Scouts are required to visit a facility that is knowledgeable about birds. Where better to go than the National Aviary, the nation’s premiere bird park! During this class, scouts will be introduced to the world of birds through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and live birds. Scouts will also have the chance to interview Aviary staff and learn about the many career opportunities the zoo field has to offer.
GIRL SCOUT PROGRAMS
Brownies Watching Wildlife
$9.50 per child
Program lasts 1 hour
Try-its are included
Participants will get close to bird species from all over the world while learning about nature and conservation efforts. The program meets the requirements detailed in the Girl Scout Handbook.
Juniors
$10.50 per child
Each program lasts 2 hours
Badges included
Class members will explore a world of birds and more through our Junior Badge Program. Through the Plants and Animals or the Wildlife programs, participants complete the requirements detailed in the Girl Scout Handbook.
Seniors
$10.50 per child
Each program lasts 2 hours
IPA included
Cadettes will be introduced to the world of zoo careers through interviews, bird watching and interactive group discussions. Participants will learn about zoos and why they are critical to the future survival of wildlife.
