PALEARCTIC (EURASIAN)

The largest of six major regions, the Palearctic has mostly cold climate in its northern parts. Most of its birds are migratory, wintering far to the south in the Ethiopian and Oriental regions.


Typical species include loon, terns, auks, woodpercers, Old World warblers, bunting and finches.
